Why Millennium Square?
The Specials are coming to town! Millennium Square are hosting another great band to invade Leeds in May 2017. They forms in 1977 and now 40 years later they come to Leeds, this is why I love Leeds The Cribs did an almighty show at the millennium square last year and even Wretch 32 and example were here a few years before that.
Why The Specials?
It marks the first time since 2014 that The Specials have played in the city, despite extensive UK tours in the meantime. The headliners have been a powerful musical force since forming in 1977, thanks to their unique blend of irresistible ska melodies with a fervent political stance that perfectly summed up the times in which they grew up in. Even if it wasn’t the brightest outlook, their words provided important social commentary back then, and perhaps their words are as relevant today.
Tickets are available on seetickets and ticketmaster for around 40-45 pounds.
